It's carnival time in Brazil from 28th Feb to 9th March!
Rio de Janeiro holds the biggest street party in the world and millions of people come to enjoy the colours, dance, music and costumes. Following the success of our recent Football World Cup and Brazilian Olympics themed workshops, we're bringing back our popular school carnival workshops this springtime, to brighten up these grey days.

Capoeira dance -Capoeira is a fusion of fitness, acrobatics, self-defence, dance and music. It is a 400 year old Brazilian martial art which has been recently popularised in films such as Harry Potter, MTV music videos and in PlayStation games. Pupils will have the opportunity to learn about the music, history and language (Brazilian Portuguese) of capoeira whilst improving fitness and agility.
Capoeira provides a platform for personal achievement, improving self-esteem and creativity and links well to PE, drama and music.
Brazilian drumming - Our drumming workshops are one big noisy family, banging hard-hitting rhythms and breaks. Learn to play Rio-style samba, samba reggae, afore and Mozambique-style with absolutely the best teachers. Fun and furious, absolutely all levels can participate! Football Freestyle - Brazilian football is some of the best in the world, or perhaps it used be? Regardless, we have the best Brazilian football freestyle artists who will display their impressive skills and and teach the basic tricks of football freestyle. Brazilian music - Pupils will learn songs with our specialist teacher - covering samba,
bossa nova and Brazilian jazz. The workshops are a great opportunity for pupils to learn about a different culture and pick up a little of the Portuguese language. They also will play tambourine and other traditional Brazilian percussion instruments with the teacher.
